Stampin up Saleabration begins!

These cards were all made with papers, punches and stamps from Saleabration. These were part of my card swap that happened Friday evening at Team Social. Some of us braved the winter weather to enjoy some make n' takes, dinner and share some laughs. Farah made it all the way from Guelph in that terrible weather and even stopped for a Starbucks on the way! A lady after my own heart!

Reconnecting with Dr Joey

Last night I had the opportunity to listen to a presentation by Dr Joey Shulman. I have been following her on and off for several years. She is a chiropractor and a holistic nutritionist. Several years ago I had the opportunity to work with her for several months. I enjoyed sharing the evening with Margie and we both came away with some new outlooks on improving our health.
Tonight I am off to A Stampin Up Team meeting and I am looking forward to seeing everyone! We are doing a card swap so I will post pictures when I get home tonight.
Stay safe and try to stay warm

Hearts a Flutter Shower Card

I needed a shower card before I left for Halifax last week! Since I love the Hearts a Flutter stamp and framelits from Stampin Up I decided to give them a try. Using the colours that are already being used for the wedding, I went to work. Happy with my results and congratulations to Louisa and John.
Used Pacific Point ink and Paper
Very Vanilla paper
Sahara Sand paper
Gold embossing powder

A Great Way to Spend a Weekend

This weekend I had the opportunity to attend a weekend retreat at the Elmhurst Inn in Ingersoll, Ontario.
I have attended Denise Donald's crops so I knew that I would be well taken care of but Denise and Natasha went over and above anything that I expected.
The retreat started on Friday - anytime from 10 am on - of course Anna and I were there by 9:45 waiting in the parking lot. We arrived to a warm welcome and a wonderful loot bag set up on the table. Anna and I went right to work and started to create. Lunch was on our own so we took a trip into town and enjoyed lunch a Ye Old Bakery and Cafe - one of my favorites when work brings me to Ingersoll. The meals that were part of our package started at dinner in the Elmhurst and we had some amazing food. Sunday brunch is famous at the Elmhurst and I can see why.
Included at our crop was a 3 card class and a 2 page layout. More classes were available and I fit in as many as I could. Later this week I will post some pictures of some of the things we created.
If you ever have the opportunity to attend a Christmas Retreat .... or I hear there may be a spring on this year, don't hesitate to sign up. You will be treated like gold.
Signing off for now - I need to get my rest for my appointment with my trainer tomorrow evening. He doesn't like it when I have not had enough sleep.
Stay tuned for some of the pictures of the weekends' classes.

No Excuses Now!!

Ok, I will be honest, it took me a few minutes to remember HOW to blog because it has been that long.
Recently, I signed up to be a Stampin Up Hobby Demonstrator and after receiving my delicous starter kit I looked at my scrapbook room and decided some changes needed to be made. Last weekend I spent time organizing my scrapping space and this weekend I was at Scrapfest buying more stuff to fill it up again. Although I did buy more than I expected, I was really good at not buying more paper. (except I split on the great deal at the Turtle on card stock) Stamps on the other hand - well we won't go there. Joanne from the Scrapping Bug/Learning Factory was a gracious host the past two days as I did my best to help her customers find their perfect die, paper or stamps for their crafting projects. Thanks for letting me play scrapbook store in your booth Joanne.
My "no excuses now" part comes into play because I have no more excuses not to create at home and post on my blog more than I have been. Ha - I am not really setting that bar too high am I.
Ok so lets say that once a week I will post on my blog and see how I am at keeping up with that.
Stay tuned. You never know - I may surprise you.

Happy New Year

For those of you who that I had lost my blog or forgotten my password - I did neither of those things I just haven't had a chance to blog and it is still new to me. I decided that I would start by reviewing my 2010.
I continue to be involved with NSD and still have my little Rambo - although as you can see - he is not so little anymore.
He is on a back up list for recall but there has to be a 6 failures before he goes in. This means we should have him until May/June. I helped NSD out with some fund raisers - we did Woofstock (in the rain) it is always fun to see the variety of dogs that show up (all decked out I might add) and people watch to see if it is true that we tend to take on the look of our dogs. Yup we do - I am husky because of Harley and I am sticking with that as my excuse. Kim and I did photography for the motorcycle ride in July and it was really funny to see these bikers dressed in their black leather melt when you put a 12 week old puppy in their arms!! We had a blast!

Matt and Mike both went through driver training and both of the boys have their licenses now. We picked up another car - since they cannot drive my vehicle and they have done a great job at sharing the use. It may have even brought them closer.

I visited Memories Manor twice in 2010 and truly enjoyed it - if fact I enjoyed it so much I have 3 visits booked for 2011!! They are going to get sick of seeing my face!! I tried my first canvas with Karen at the Art House Studio - it now hangs in my bathroom - much to my husband's dismay. We love going to crop with Karen - it is just such a creative place - the juices really get going. I enjoyed many fundraising crops in 2010 and plan to do the same in 2011. In December I was invited to be a member of the Scrapbook Queens Design Team - something I had never thought about doing - me on a design team?? I have to say I am enjoying it - this has pushed me to think more out of my comfy little box and I am hoping it continues to do so. Finding it hard to keep up with the forum and the challenges but I am hoping that after next week I will be able to give it more focus. And of course...lest we forget....the banning of 2010!!! How many of you can say you know someone who has been ban from a scrapbook store. That has to be a first!! Funny thing is that I have still been able to aquire all kinds of new scrapbooking tools, embellishments, paper, markers etc without shopping at Two Scrapbook Friends. Life does go on!!

It really doesn't look like much for a whole year, 2010 just flew by. It is true what they say - the older you get the faster time flys. All in all it was a pretty good year - and at this time I would like to say thank you.
To all of my friends - the ones that have been long time, the new friends I have made over the past year and the people who I have gotten to know better in 2010 I say THANKS!! Without you in my life, it would not be so full. I cherish each and everyone of you. Now bring on 2011!
